Dear fellow list readers,
I repost here what I already posted to the thread opened by "jad" for
this problem:
I have the same problem as jad. Maybe my logfiles can shed some more
light on this issue? Turning debugging on generates a lot of output
which might be helpful. I would like to add this log to the existing bug
195, do I have to create a separate bugzilla account for that or can I
use my "normal" ziptie login?
I started from scratch with ziptie 2007.06 (Linux, perl 5.8.8, java
1.5.0_11-b03, nmap 4.20) and added only one device to test if I can grab
a config from it. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.
At first, the debug log told me that ZipTie::SSH found invalid
credentials, which was true, because the (Cisco-)Router is only
configured for telnet and SNMP access. So I changed the order of
protocols for ziptie to try and when that did not work either, I
unchecked all protocols but telnet and SNMP with telnet being first and
SNMP second protocol to try, but again to no avail.
The credentials are correct, I can verify that from within ziptie with
Tools->Ping and Launch->Telnet and Tools->SNMP System Info.
Still I see [ZipTie::CLIProtocol] ERROR: INVALID_CREDENTIALS encountered
on the device '1.2.3.4' in the debug log (and a lot more) when I try to
get a backup. The icon in the ziptie gui correctly shows a red cross to
indicate the problem getting a config from the device.
There's no username configured on the device, so my only guess is, that
ziptie might have a problem with the username being empty?
I could use some help here ...
Thanks,
danielB.
