I would prefer to keep this off the head and post on zipforge for people who need it. How often is something like this seen?

I wanted to run this by you all...

The CSM blade for the 6500 chassis holds 99% of its config in the main switch config so we backup it up fine.

However, the last 1% is held locally as TCL files (TCL isn't dead, yet!). You have to session over to the card to get the text files off it.

If I was to extend the IOS adapter to go get this data and store it as other config files in their own folder, would you want this to become part of the standard IOS adapter or would it be a custom adapter for a specific scenario? The former would mean we'd have no way of testing as we don't have it in our labs and the latter is just plain nasty - a separate IOS adapter to handle the CSM scenario.

Ideas on a postcard....

James,

As long as there are no ZED differences for all other IOS devices you can make it part of the standard IOS adapter. Send the changes to me when you're done so I can check them into CVS. Also, send a recording if you have it (adapterTool -r). Then we can test it in the future.

Thanks,
Ryan

No ZED changes so it sounds like a plan.
